Our Governess hold the highest level of education and years of experience in the care and tuition of pre-school and school aged children. Our candidates each have their own methods of teaching and raising children, we take care to match the candidate who fits with the family’s ethos.

Below are details regarding what may be expected of a Governess:

• Governess are experienced professionals in charge of the education and social development of children in a private home.
• Governess will be employed to work 5 or 6 days per week and may work alongside a nanny or mothers’ help.·         Governess normally care for children between the ages of 3 to 16.
• A Governess will have a teaching background or have higher education and a minimum of 5 years professional experience.
• A Governess will often teach children in their care a second language.
• A Governess will teach social etiquette and expand a child’s cultural understanding.
• A Governess may teach an instrument.
• Homework tuition is an essential part of a Governess duties.
• Governess salaries range dependant on experience from £500 net per week in London and £600 to £1200 net per week outside the UK.
