Here’s what to expect from your live-in nanny

Live-in nannies work between 10 and 12 hours per day, five days per week. Many families also require two nights of babysitting included in the salary.

A live-in nanny may work a 24-hour shift or 5-6 day shifts for a higher salary.

Our live-in nannies are qualified to care for children of any age, from newborn. Little Ones will only put forward live-in nannies who have experience with children of your family’s age group.

Duties include:

• educational activities such as teaching a second language
• arranging play-dates and social schedules
• ensuring children’s bedrooms are clean and tidy
• homework assistance
• washing and ironing the children’s clothes
• preparation of meals fo the children
• driving the children
• planning children’s extracurricular activities
• keeping the parents informed of developmental progress

Experienced live-in nannies are in high demand

A live-in nanny is provided their own bedroom and privacy when “off-duty”. Some families offer separate accommodation for live-in nannies. Many families also offer a separate bathroom and, where possible, living space in order to attract a higher calibre of live-in nanny.

Live-in nanny rates

In London a live-in nanny with more than three years professional experience earns between £300 and £450 net per week. This is dependant on family requirements and the nanny’s experience.

Live-in nannies working abroad command higher salaries of £550 to £950 net per week  - again, this depends on the requirements of your family.

24-hour live-in nannies usually receive salaries of over £500 net per week.
Less experienced live-in nannies, working fewer hours, are usually happy with a salary of £250 net per week.

Live-in nannies can travel with your family and offer 24-hour cover while parents are away. In such instances a set salary will be arranged.
