Amber was a real pleasure to meet. She arrived at our office fully prepared and with all her documents nicely arranged in a folder which shows how organised she is. She is from Huddersfield and moved to London in September 2015 to studyat the Institute of Art.
She became an Au Pair in January this year, since then she looks after 2 children aged 7 and 10. She has experience with general duties such as School runs, afternoon activities, homework support, meal preparation, light housekeeping, bath and bed routines…
She is the eldest of 4 siblings and mentioned she was always being the responsible and mature one and she started babysitting 4 years ago, looking after multiple children at a time for various families. The parents trusted her that much that many times she was in sole charge during weekends (proxiparenting) when the parents were away. Amber said that she always tried to get the children involved in a variety of activities that would challenge them, develop their creativity and stimulate them.
She describes herself as responsible and reliable, mature ”older than my age”, very organised, creative, independent and family orientated. She loves history, ancient civilisations, art and sawing, swiming, dancing, she also likes traveling ( backpacked to Belgium after saving money for months in order to do so), makes hand made jewellery and girly things and sells in order to gain money. She said she loves cooking and especially baking and loves to prepare cupcakes.
Amber was lovely and it was a pleasure to speak with her and I recommend you would interview her as soon as possible as she will not be in our books for long.
