Qualified and experienced Governess/Nanny needed to provide care for a toddler on a rota basis, 24/7 on call 1 week on and then one week off. Whilst on duty, flexibility on working hours is required, but typically there is downtime in the first half of the day, between 9 am to 12 pm and also during dinner/bedtime routine, 5 to 7 pm which is typically taken care of by the mother (when available).

The candidate will have the toddler monitored at night, although the child typically sleeps through the night until around 6 am. This is an informal, peaceful and quiet household in the countryside. A driver is essential for this role, an automatic car will be provided, and the family is keen to find a qualified Nanny (early years specialist) who can assist with the development of the child's skills and language.

Duties would include

  • changing nappies and helping with potty/toilet training,
  • teaching general life skills, such as basic hygiene and manners,
  • creating activities and playdates,
  • preparing and administering healthy food for the little child,
  • preparing and assisting with bath time and bedtime,
  • cleaning and washing up after child’s meals,
  • washing and ironing child’s clothes,
  • and reporting every activities and issue to the parents.

The Governess/Nanny will also be responsible for doing some light childcare housekeeping such as

  • organising the child’s clothes,
  • doing laundry and ironing the child’s clothes,
  • making sure the child’s room is always clean
  • and doing occasional grocery shopping of the child’s supplies.

English to a native level is a must and the family is looking for a mature candidate with extensive experience. Accommodation provided is a private, integrated flat with own entrance but this is available during on-duty rota only and the family provide flights back to the UK after each shift. You will be fully employed by this family (not self-employed).

They would need someone for a September start. The family travels quite a bit, in France, London and other various holiday destinations so someone flexible to travel with them is ideal. They have two dogs at home so someone pet-friendly would be advantageous. A valid first aid qualification is essential for this position.
